Most business people, especially in small to medium size businesses, fail to understand the business of business. It is one reason so many businesses fail.
They might understand the specifics of what they do, such as a plumber understands plumbing, or a restaurateur, food, but rarely do they understand what it takes to build a business where every Stakeholder succeeds. A business capable of producing a perfect predictable experience every customer, or client, every time.
To understand the business of business you need to know how Finance, Operations, Marketing and Management actually work, and how they work together. This is not that difficult. What is difficult is having a successful business without this knowledge.
After 50 years, I'm still stunned by how few businesses actually have Management Information Systems in place to aid in making sound business decisions.
Operations
This is usually the starting place for building a turnkey business. The McDonald brother's Speedy Service System recorded every function in operations that must be performed and documented how to do it written operation manuals, thus creating a turnkey system. We will show you how to do it.
Ownership
Owners have been left off as there is no way to build a turnkey operation for ownership. It would be like herding cats. If there is a board of directors, they are included in the management section.
